The Best Reseller Inventory Tracker for eBay, Etsy, Poshmark & Multi-Platform Sellers

Most inventory tools are generic product databases. This one is built for resellers at tax time: track what you paid for each item (COGS), what you sold it for, which platform, what fees you paid, and your actual profit — then export a CSV that turns a 7-hour tax session into 30 minutes.

HBTax: Reseller Inventory Tracker

Track what you paid for inventory, what you sold it for, and on which platform. Per-item COGS, platform fees, profit, margin, and days-to-sell. Export as CSV for your tax spreadsheet or CPA. Built so tax season takes 30 minutes, not 7 hours.

01 / What most calculators miss
  • No COGS tracking at the item level. Knowing your total 1099-K income means nothing without cost basis. Most reseller trackers focus on sales volume, not the purchase cost that makes income taxable or not taxable.
  • Platform fees are averaged away. eBay is 13.25%, Poshmark is 20%, Facebook is 5% — the difference is real money. Generic trackers use a flat commission or skip fees entirely, overstating profit.
  • No tax-ready export. Resellers need a CSV they can paste into a tax spreadsheet or send to a CPA — with item name, COGS, net proceeds, and profit. Most tools produce pretty dashboards with no export.
  • Purchase platform isn't tracked. Whether you sourced from a thrift store, estate sale, or Facebook Marketplace matters for documentation. The IRS can ask you to prove basis.
  • No days-to-sell visibility. Knowing how long items sit tells you which categories to double down on and which to stop sourcing. This number is never shown in generic inventory tools.

Per-Item COGS Records

Enter purchase cost, purchase date, and source for every item. This is your cost basis under IRC §1221. When you sell, the tracker computes taxable profit (net proceeds minus COGS) — the number your CPA actually needs, not your gross 1099-K total.

Per-Platform Fee Calculation

Set platform fee % per item (default 13.25% for eBay) or enter manually for each sale. Net proceeds = sale price minus platform fees. Profit = net proceeds minus purchase cost. No averaging, no guessing.

CSV Export for Google Sheets

One click copies all rows as CSV — item name, purchase cost, source platform, sale price, sale date, platform fees, net proceeds, profit, margin, and notes. Paste directly into Google Sheets or send to your CPA.

Summary Dashboard

Total invested, total revenue, total profit, average margin, unsold inventory value, and average days to sell — all computed live. Unsold inventory is flagged separately because it is not deductible until the year of sale.

The ShowMath™ difference

Every Reise calculator has a ShowMath panel — expand it and you see the exact formula with your actual numbers substituted in. Not a result. Not a black box. The full derivation, step by step.

Resellers lose money twice at tax time: once by overpaying because they can't prove COGS, and once by underpaying and getting penalized later. The fix is a simple habit: log every purchase and every sale with cost basis. This tracker makes that habit take 30 seconds per transaction — so that when April comes, the records are already there.
